Meanwhile, American Airlines is to be training their pilots on the plane starting this month and is making scheduling plans for the MAX to be in service by the end of December, which I don't think they'd do if they weren't sure it was imminent.

Just wondering about the demand from passengers in the current environment?

That's easy...demand is really low. For example, Air Canada recently cancelled an order, and it was for both AirBus and the MAX so the Boeing stigma wasn't the whole reason this time. https://simpleflying.com/air-canada-a220-order-cancellation/

Boeing is getting plane systems upgraded. I was told the software only planes are heading to Mobile Alabama to get that done, next up were planes needing both software and hardware. Airlines worldwide are getting them ready...a lot of planes that have been parked for a long time are having maintenance done.

So....the planes are no longer grounded by the FAA. BUT they still can't fly until the airlines revise pilot training for the plane, and install new software.

Duct tape is a staple on UAL aircraft anyway. This was a couple years ago on a flight from SFO to Shanghai 90 minutes out....water leak.

No but the Union came around and asked if I was gonna fight it? I told them no on both counts!

Company gave me a step 1 for a duration of 6 months and a step 2 for 2 years! Step 3 was out the door!

They changed the left elevator after the acft had to return to the gate to disembark a full load and change acft!

One square foot hole between ribs on the jackknife madec it necessary to remove quite a few computers to patch, also broke the NLG scissors so Big Dave called for a full nose gear change.

Heavy cross wind landings happen every day somewhere in the world. You usually only hear about the ones that done fare so well.. Just rare that someone caught it on camera.

Triple 7. Just a daily thing in the UK. Probably a 100 people daily on their approach that film the "fun" every day.
