This a 67 coronet any ideas and still have A good ride? Thanks

With a title like that, there's got to be a sexual reply in the making.

depends on how saggy your current springs are.if you like the soft ride you have now, then maybe a set of shackles are in order.normally i wouldnt recomend those, but if you like the ride its about the only way to keep it the same.

Couple questions, I have shackles on my 68.

So if I get lift springs, it would be stiffer in the back? Seems like it would. My Coronet rides akin to a cadillac, would I lose that smooth softness over bumps?

Second, why would you not recommend them? Just curious. Do they break? Is there a difference in traction, etc?

Thanks!

What does the car look like now? We cannot recommend a spring without seeing where the car sits now.

not only does it throw off the spring geometry,i have seen them break in some really bad ways.buddy with a 396 55 chev put his dr shaft through the floor board because of one breaking.
most "new"springs will stiffen the ride to some point.unless they are rated lower then stock, but those dont normaly give any lift.

replace your leafs, or add a leaf to your old springs. or replace your shocks with monroe sensa load asst's(inexpensive version of a coil over shock), or add some leaf blocks. shackles are for the s&m leather crowd.

I added one modified truck leaf to each side. Perfect. Just over an inch, muscle car stance. No compromise in ride. The Coronet rides like a Caddy too.

A competent spring or suspension shop can re-arch them also... but it's probably cheaper & better to buy new springs, they will all tend to sag at-least an inch, over 46+ years now...

good idea too

Ugggghhhh.... not another 70's throwback!! That stance looked horrible in the 70's and 80's when they all ran around with shackles, air shocks, and cragars. On top of looking hideous, it performs as bad as it looks. Just my .02, and that's all it's worth lol.... OK, now order your shackles and shocks and carry on!!

This looks much better than air shocks jacked to clear N50-15's that are hard as concrete:headbang: Just the right stance. I'm not a fan of the *** dragger look either.

my 64 chrysler was a tail dragger , especially with a full trunk and passengers. I installed the sring overloads on the rear shocks...
now sets about 2 1/2 inches higher and doesnt cornor like the queen mary , handles much better with a little stiffer suspension to boot !

You might try the XHD springs but again, who the heck knows because you've never indicated where your car sits now.

Killer man! What leafs are on that and is the car tubbed at all?
