I bought a use 727 trans with a seized valve body so I bought a replacement valve body off ebay. While rebuilding the trans, my intent was to put a Transgo kit in it but when I took the ebay valve body apart I notice someone had already been in it. The mods that had been done do not match the transgo kit nor anything I have seen previously.

My question is, can anyone identify the kit or know the mods used in this VB? The attached pics show the mods that were made.

I,m not sure it would work with only 1 check ball....I had mixed matched parts on mine too...The tranny guy told me to get another one...When you mix the parts thats not a good thing...

For the record, I just may not know what I am looking at. The top plate changes almost look like factory drilled spots. They are pretty clean, but it doesn't match the one that came out of the trans. (as far as the drilled spot go) Since I know the bottom plate has been modded I just figured the top had been as well.

dont know of any production shift kit with those mods (possible home made manual VB??)
hard to tell from pics looks like the 2-3 shift valve was removed
advice.... start fresh with a new VB before you install the trans go kit

Good catch PD, I hadn't got that for into the VB yet but you are right. It is missing the 2-3 valve. I don't know what was done to this VB but I think I will be sending it back and getting another one.
