I was told it was a spool according to the build sheet. I am assuming it is a posi unit. From what I have researched it is a powr-lok it does have 35 spline axles. Will this rear work well for drag racing? 10358742_874454012590891_8805932158186921484_n.jpg10537727_874453975924228_3099316913365999146_n.jpg10888849_874453935924232_2539912810335092578_n.jpg

You will have a heck of a time putting a posi unit in a Chrysler housing. But that surgrip should work just fine.

Sure grip, posi, what ever you want to call it. Guys I knew growin' up called it a V-ramp. It's a goodie .

Should I add any treatments to this unit when I seal it back up. I purchased better diff cover and I plan on using Royal Purple gear oil.

That is NOT a spool! It is a sure grip! It is a Dana for sure.

I guess they said it was a spool since it is a locker. I was hoping for a spool but it seems like they had their terminology incorrect. Either way I think it will work just fin for my needs. Thanks for all of the help everyone.

It's not a locker either but a factory limited slip unit and it's a good one too. Use it....and yes, it's call the Power Lock, Powr lok or however the factory manual speeeels it lol. This is the difference between the one for an 8 3/4 and the Dana 60 unit....
