Hi All,

Rattles drive me nuts. I am in the process of tracking down and eliminating annoying rattles coming from the doors on my '69 Coronet 500 hard top. I have found a couple of culprits and dealt with them but now I'm looking at the linkage rods that are attached to the key lock and the door lock mechanism. Are there any anti-rattle clips available for these or some sort of home brewed way to stop them from rattling that doesn't interfere with their operation? Any help/thoughts would be appreciated.

I usually stick a thick piece of foam between the latch rod and the inner door panel to stifle any rattle. Not a bad idea to do something similar for the door lock rod the knob screws on to. Also take a look down in the bottom of the door as over the decades stuff seems to gather in them - forgotten parts, sockets, wrenches, etc.

Thanks. I do have some foam lying around. The doors are clean as a whistle.
