Hi guys, fitting my new front end kit and the Idler Arm was supplied with a foam washer/nut on the k-frame end as well as a steel washer/nut for the Centrelink end.
I'm thinking the foam washer goes between the bottom of the idler arm and the k-frame, but wouldn't it tear over time and create slop? The old idler arm has a rubber or foam washer (hard to tell as it's full of grime) and it's torn in half.
It's a 66 so the idler arm is not encapsulated top and bottom in the k-frame like the later years.
Thanks

I think you are correct on placement. It keeps dirt out of the joint. The grease coming out of the idler joint will keep the foam lubed.
