if anybody cares

I am an ex season ticket holder from the days I lived in Van City. If someone gave me a ticket now, I'd still stay away. I feel for the bar and restaurant owners who lost so much income over this and for the charities like Canuck Place and Ronald MacDonald house who lost funds from 50/50 draws etc. Disgusting that a buncha multi millionaires, players and owners alike can affect the welfare of so many others thru their own greed.

Well, hopefully a lot of fans will want to skip games... especially Tampa Bay Lightning fans if the Penguins come to Tampa for a game. :) Sure would like to get my glass front tickets behind the visitors bench again.

Hockey is the coolest sport on earth..I played for over 25 yrs and still get out every once in a blue moon. It is also the hardest game to play and requires the most skilled of all athletes except gymnastics. I love the game and love the sport and the Bruins have been my team for ever. I do have the spoked B for a tat. It will take a couple years to come back( the game) but it will come back I suppose. Its just very very disapointing that this crap happens but it happenes in all pro sports. Let the puck drop and the hitting begin :)

3rd strike & their out now for me... I'm tired of it & don't care anymore...LOL...

ron, the way i see it is, if the seats didn't have bums in them and the television folks not paying zillions for the rights, the pie wouldn't be that big. if, the pie wasn't that big there wouldn't be a fight over the crumbs. i grew up with the original 6 teams and listening to foster hewitt on a fuzzy black and white screen. they lost me on the second expansion to 14-16? teams. today a 20 something man team has 2-3 guys making stupid money to keep the seats full, and 1/2 the cities they are playing in are subsidized by the rest of the league. i don't even start watching now until the second round of the play-offs, maybe. i get lots of offers for tickets in either toronto or montreal from my suppliers but don't go. if a customer wants them there his. i played serious hockey growing up. made jr.-b which in that era was not bad. today they have 2 maybe 3 levels of jr.-a hockey. i just quit playing hockey, old timers, 12 years ago. still go for a skate 1-2 times a month during the season but the hip injury makes it a little wobbly.
xx-thanks for letting me chirp.

p.s. its not all the kids fault for the $$$. there's an agent getting his chunk. a small number of them have a lot of guy's signed up. kinda reminds me of a don king situation, you think. :argue:

Yep, agents and more yet draws it in, and some of those guys have some real talent,, I never watched to much of Hockey but i used to watch Nascar and football quite a bit but i haven't watched a race for 3 years now and don't watch football like i used to and i hope it doesn't lead to all that king was up with, some of those boxers had some rough things to say about him, some sued i think, i shouldn't really comment on this part as i don't know that much about him, bet hes older then we are Rick lol, if hes still around... Take care of that hip and "chirp" away, its all in a talk!

king might be an extreme example but 15-16-17yrs ago i had an inside seat to the nhl draft that year in pitts or philly?. friend of mine was the jr-a coach for belleville bulls. him and his wife and me and the wife took the drive, he had to be there for obvious reasons and i just wanted to see the inside of the process. there was a big gala event in an old train station converted to hall, that should help someone telling me where i was, and what surprised me was the number of agents there for a draft of 1000's of kids to choose from. granted they all don't make it but it was something i noticed. when i asked mav, coach, he said the big comers up only have a handful of agents and the rest end up with another handful.
would i ever go to another one you ask,LOL, no. unless you have a reason or purpose to be there its like watching the grass grow.
here's food for thought, if the 6-7-8 teams that are on welfare go down and the salary cap is held per team, you would see some old time hockey. not this prima-dona stuff now. these guys at the pogey line will have to play for a spot.
thanks: chirping again

Got a message from Mario Lemieux and Ray Shiro of the Penguins last night. I was expecting the usual blah, blah, blah about how it takes time for labor and owners to work things out, but instead it was a short and sweet "There is no excuse for what's been happening for the past six months." Nice to see some NHL owners get it.
