To my fellow rodders, you need to be aware that the House of Representatives and Senate are poised to vote on energy bills this week that, I guarantee you, if we're unsuccessful in getting these bills passed, will result in $7-8/gallon gasoline by the end of this year. If you truly like driving your hotrod, then I strongly urge you to call DC and politely share your support for the legislation outlined below. Even moreso, should you rely on fuel as a primary expense for you business.

Obama's plan is to "empower" the EPA to write new rules designed to "curb" fuel consumption by Americans. How does he plan to do it ? He plans to make energy so expensive that we, essentially, have little choice but to reduce consumption. His legislation will impact everthing from simple utility bills and heating our homes to $7-8/gal gasoline by the end of this year. This is all part of Obama's Cap and Tax - I mean Trade legislation he's trying to force down the throats of Americans.

It is absolutely imperative the you contact your legislators first thing tomorrow:

The DC switchboard number is 202-224-3121 and simply ask for your reps by name. Tell them that you urge them to vote Yes on the Energy Tax Prevention Act (H. R. 910 / S. 482—also McConnell Amendment #183).

The above bills are intended to block any action by the EPA that could further increase energy costs for Americans at a time when we definitely cannot afford it.

Remember, you've been warned. Doing nothing will ensure Obama's eco-nazi's will have their hands in your back pockets again - and soon.

Thanks for the Update!!!!

I'll try to get ahold of my Represenitive.
How ever he is a Republican, who is also a owner of a car dealership so I'm sure he is going to vote to block the EPA bill.

KD, don't be so sure of yourself, simply because your rep is a Republican. Remember, if Cap and Tax passes, we will be sending MORE money to DC.

I have yet to, personally, witness a politician turning down "new money" and that goes for Republicans and Democrats alike. Some call it a tax, others refer to it as fees, however, they all act like a teenager with Daddy's credit card, and we all know what happens when we ask them to be thrifty...

If you vote Democrat, you're supporting the Socialist agenda and if you vote Republican, you vote for a Statist agenda. Either way, we're losing, and my advice is to not trust that your elected officials will automatically do the right thing. History teaches us better...

Also, please remember to pass along to as many fellow rodders as you can ASAP !

Thanks for the link... I was right my Represenitive is a co sponsor of the bill.

Notice who is opposed... Consumer Union (who is consumer reports) Small Business Majority is a Liberal so called advocacy group for Small Businesses that was a suporter of Obama Care.
I don't see what NAACP has to do with this.
ALA .... no donations from me. Same with the Asthma foundation.
Still trying to figure out what the Jewish Action Center has to do with the EPA

◦National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
◦American Lung Association
◦Natural Resources Defense Council
◦Small Business Majority
◦Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism
◦Consumers Union
◦American Thoracic Society
◦Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America

Sent memo out to our Representative to vote YES on this Bill.

Thanks for the heads up.

I'm not a fan of trying to conserve energy ond/or fossil fuels by incresing taxes on them. This is a ridiculous approach.

However, It is clear to me that alternatives need to be found, both from a shoveling money to hostile regimes aspect and an ecological aspect.

What we really need (and what Obama promised), is intensive tax breaks and federal subsidies for alternative fuel source research and development. Ths would both reduce our dependance on foriegn oil, and create jobs in America, in labor, service and high tech.

Instead, we have state sponsored legislation (right here in republican FL) seeking to bar small business from installing alternative energy sources (particularly solar), and to llimit those businesses who can install those systems to the existing monopolistic utilities.

We also have legislation that severly limits the price that "excess" power generated by utility customers can be sold back to the utility.

I've said for as long as I was able to grasp the situation, that nothing will be done to replace fossil fuels until they are on the verge of being depleted, and as that time draws nearer, those that control those resources and their distribution will continue to grow exponetially more wealthy and also to thwart any attempt to develop replacements by any means at their disposal.

If you want some of your money back, buy oil and utility company stock.
(Not crazy about supporting those policies, but....)

I own about 5 and they all pay between 5% and 9%. Not bad when savings accounts and CDs are about 1.5%.

For a logshot, try solar and CNG....95% of the solar companies are German.
No income now, but the ones that come through the infancy period will probably be monsters.

The policies pushed by both parties are the almost the same; just different cloaks.

The people of a country are no longer FREE when the masses are not allowed to make their own choices and are forced to purchase certain goods (hybrids) or services (health care)! :protest:

If they are dumb enough to put this country into a downward death spiral, then so be it. Maybe it'll wake up the 'sleeping beauty' citizens in this country that think OUR politicians are in there on our behalf and work for us will join in and work together to stop the insanity. BOTH sides are corrupt as hell and we need to put a stop to it!

Well put!

When will the people have time to notice it is happening? They are so busy trying to feed their families that this stuff goes unnoticed. By the time they wake up it will be too late; everyone that opposes Gov, by then, will be put into concentration camps! And besides how can they stand up when there are no more guns?

Who knows for sure, but anything could happen. Just more to think about.

A long time ago I took an oath to protect and defend this country and her people from ALL enemies, both foriegn and domestic. I no longer wear a uniform or rank, but I gave my word and will stick to it. Be it by vote, by dialogue or by bullet.

Great comments guys, and I've gotten considerable feedback from my personal email list where others have already made their phone calls.

Remember, this bill has nothing to do with the environment - or energy. It is a direct ASSAULT on our representative form of government. Why do I say that ?

1 It takes away (undermines) our elected House Reps, by transferring taxing authority to an unelected, unaccountable, group of EPA beaurocrats that don't really give a damn about what Americans think. And why should they ? They'll never face the wrath of the voters and most constituents won't even have a clue (or care?) about who they are... They'll only know that energy "naturally" got more expensive....

2 This is Obama's way of letting America know just what he thinks of our republican form of government. After all, he thinks he's the king of America and it's obvious that he has nothing but disdain for our Constitution. This is just another way or "breaking things down". Again, this is truly creeping communism at work.

3 Once the EPA has been empowered, look for Obama to require "international" environmental laws to become the standard by which Americans should live their lives. That's really what it's all about.

Anybody out there visit a foreign nation lately to see just where this is going ?

I had a foreigner berate me as an American recently because he was insulted by Americans thinking fuel should be cheaper here, than any where else on the planet. I'm also flabergasted by the number of my fellow Americans that spout this same rubbish. Why?

EVERYBODY buys oil on the open market for exactly the same price. That's right; Europens; Asians; etc, all pay the same price/barrel for their oil. The difference ?

Everybody else piles TAXES on top of the sales price to arrive at their consumer sales price !!! In other words, most foreigners accept being screwed by their government and industries but, isn't that the kind of environment our forefathers resisted for America ? Disposable income was, and still is, the key to influencing policy here in America. Most will not like that comment, but if you think I'm wrong, name me a nation where citizens have little to no disposable income, and then tell me how that government treats their 'peasants'... It's where we're headed folks...

It's time to wake up our friends and neighbors. It also makes me happy to see the level of knowledge and passion with such topics by this group. We're a dying breed guys, but we've got a responsibility to leave things better for the next generation - not worse.

Amen to that! I also took that same oath! Our enemies have become the people who we put into office but do we actually elect them?? Most don't realize that our election system is high on the corruption ladder....and now I'm hearing that Obama's campaign is going to top the 1 billion dollar mark. Where is that kind of money coming from!? Why are there no limits and why do lobbyists have so much power and why do WE THE PEOPLE have no lobbyists working for us??

Cranky, good questions, and I can respond to that:

It's because America (and the world for that matter) is ran by ~13 families that are working diligently to bring about world governance, with David Rockefeller and the Rothschilds (europe) at the forefront of destroying the sovereignty of all nations. The group is formally called The Bilderbergs. It's also why nationalists/patriots (people who love their nation and put their nation first) are the new whipping boys.

On a similar note, here's a clip of a truly courageous Chilean confronting David Rockefeller during a recent "economic" summit - I mean vacation - there. This guy has balls. Something most Americans have lost over the past couple decades.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFWzDFjBKUw

Also, remember, the Bilderbergers are planning another "global planning session" in St. Mortiz, Switzerland from June 9-12th, 2011. This is the group that issues marching orders for our "elected" officials and our figure-head presidents. They have been scheming and planning for the global plantation since 1953... Just about every other nation on the globe reports on their activities, but the American press (owned by the same crowd) doesn't want the American people to know whose behind America's demise.

Check it out. I did, decades ago, and you will be much more in tune with your environment afterwards.

And countries that stand up to us are labeled bad and invaded.

If you can't control it destroy it attitude!

WTO and the World Bank are destroying the world.

And most people find it hard to believe that there are only a few in control of the world.

Call them individuals or corporations they are the same. It is all about control!

Guys, here's one more video clip of this courageous 17 yr old Chilean that has more political knowledge (worldly - not just regional) than most Americans acrue in their lifetime. This my last post on this subject and thanks to my fellow patriots. I encourage you to watch the full clip and you will be astonished to hear that American "policies", especially the ones that conflict with our personal values, are now "global policies", and it's no accident.

I know what you mean about how many never learn much about how things work in politics in their OWN country let alone the world. I used to be one of them and have been doing a lot of research now that I'm retired (5 years ago)....and I'm not too sure I want to continue learning because it really pisses me off! lol
