If your interested in seeing what the firing cycle and the waveforms on your coil look like you can fall asleep watching this. The only difference in Electronic is that when it fires it will go up to 300V-400V (30kv-40kv) and it will clamp with a flat top for about the time the points ring on the back edge of the firing line. There is nothing magical about electronic ignition other than a more controlled method of turning on the "switch" and charging up the coil.

Jim,
Just like the farmer in the field.....simply Out F**king Standing. Your demonstration and actual waveform presentation is worth a thousand words. Whose 'scope are you using....it sort of looks like a Techtronics. If it were a dual trace storage scope you could display more than one event at different time bases. Not sure if a large percentage of readers understand what you demonstrated....most of the guys only understand only one thing.....MSD.
Great work and presentation....
Cheers,

Thanks Rob,
Old Tek 7704 with a 7D20 digitizer plug in..... with one non-operating channel..... My old Tek stuff is slowly dying as of today I have only one analog channel available across my TE rack :)
