Illinois antique vehicle rules

Oh dear god, stay away from FIB land! If Trumps wall doesn't get built on the Mexico border I hope it gets built on the Wisconsin/Illinois border

Oh Dear God. It's simple. Just quit all your tourism advertising in Illinois!

FIB is a popular term around here, but anyone with a good understanding of economics knows our flatlander neighbors are our friends whose tourism dollars are important to our state. Plus, we have a lot of good Mopar bros in IL - alsant and MarPar to name just a couple.

Our daughter has lived in Chicago for the past 2 years and loves it. We enjoy visiting, but I'm always glad to get out of there by the time we leave. Parking in Chicago is a headache that will drive you to drink.

Anything Chicago's got, New York has got better a thousand times over. And, I'll still take CA weather over NY,NJ, IL. :D

My family may be moving to Illinois and I'm trying to gather the most important information...namely how do I register the mopar.

http://www.oldcarsweekly.com/news/h...xpand-use-of-antique-vehicles-signed-into-law

is this rule in place? I'm looking for a way to avoid emissions testing and register with as few restrictions as possible. I don't want the AV plates where you can only go to shows, I'd like to be able to drive more often.
Just run the AV plate it’s not a big deal, ran them on my coronet and drove it everywhere. They say only to shows etc but how will anyone know that you’re not going to a show. AV plate good for 4-5 years I think.

When I lived in Chitown, we used it a lot too on the folks from Indiana, so your not alone.

Wow. I find myself in the unenviable position of heaping accolades to New York & California. Help!!

From Jersey (the toxic waste state) to Illinoise. You poor BASTARD. Weather and crime just got worse if that is possible. I sleep with the 38 under my pillow, but don't have to shovel snow.

these days i avoid politics, after a couple years of family feuds with parents and in-laws..not worth it as no one will change their mind so why even.

but i do like the FIB, had to look that one up. Reminds me of masshole and other fine terms of endearment we have up here. I will say that i have been in every inch of nyc and not felt threatened in any way, the crime is pretty low here and has been for years now thanks to the NYPD. But Dennis is right on about NJ being a toxic waste dump. We have three EPA superfund sites in my town alone between the old ferd car factory, Alcoa aluminum processing, dupont chrome plating, and other dumping grounds. at least i might be able to drink the water in Chicago. Also looking forward to the pizza and reliving the blues brothers mopar chase under the el tracks.

Chi has Rahm. Are you saying Big Bird Bill is 1000X better?
There's no difference in the political arena, both along with New Jersey, are in the toilet. But, as far as living, food, climate, etc. I'll take the big Apple hands down. Compared to when I grew up there, it's a lot safer in NYC than you can say about Chi town.

I left Chicago in '76 and only return when I have to. Choose where you live carefully. North and Northwest sides are decent. North and Northwest suburbs are better yet. The farther the better as far as I am concerned.

As John Coleman used to call them, the boonies, and the super boonies!

I got out of Illinois 4 years ago and went to northwest Indiana. Gained over 3/4 acre in property and property taxes went down from $7000 to $2300.
