That Road Runner with the Magnum's is sharp!Ok, Mr. Old School here. Probably know my answer. Neither. But. In this case, the steelies, as I do not like the hideous wagon wheels on a classic car. It's like putting size 15 shoes on a 5'2" person. See post #9 for a great answer.
I think this is a case where the car makes the wheels, rather than the wheels make the car. These wheels look great on this Challenger, making it look more retro. They looked terrible on the '68. Just my opinion. The rallye wheels look great on 70 and later cars, the Magnum wheels look great on any Mopar. I like all of the period correct aftermarket wheels. If you are going to run Modern aftermarket wheels a 5 spoke like KD has on his red Charger looks good. The modern 17 inch rallye wheels look great on 70 and later cars. They look out of place on the 68. I have the 20 inch version on my modern Challenger.

When I was daily driving my A12 (without the 440 6bbl callout on the hood) almost nobody noticed, because of the black steel wheels.Anything thing but taxi cab wheels.
These cars are built with style, the wheels should complement the car, not make it look like a taxi cab. And no, there’s no such thing as “sleeper look” with a 2 door b body, so you’re not gaining anything kind of stealth with them
Old school here as well. The shoes need to match the outfit. I find modern day wagon wheels on a 60s Mopar the equivalent of putting stripper shoes on "Mad Men's" Joan Holloway. Hate seeing young women mix and match that way. I ran black steelies on Baby Blue when I was broke, Magnum 500s when I got on my feet financially.Ok, Mr. Old School here. Probably know my answer. These were the preferred aftermarket wheel in my area when the cars were new. Poor guys ran steelies, old guys with money (original owner of my GTX) ran factory Magnums.I’ve always like the old Torque Thrust wheels of the 70’s. I think Dads car was perfect with them on it.

Didn't back in the day, either, at least where I lived. I remember one new '69 Road Runner with slots, and that was about it. It was Alpine White with a black bucket console interior, kind of a freak all around.slots are my fave......and I'm Hell bent on running them on my 68, maybe...... but I don't see many, if any, wearing slots
I concur! I have them on my V code Charger R/T!I’ve always like the old Torque Thrust wheels of the 70’s. I think Dads car was perfect with them on it.

I like the color of the centers. I was going to do that with my black GTX, and call it the Bad Penny. But then the trade happened and I was left with Dog Dish, another one of your favorite looks!
Lol, old school here as well. Shoes match the outfit? Good analogy. I find it goofy to see guys such as Howie, Bradshaw, and cohorts on TV in their finely tailored $3,000 suits, ties, and all…wearing tennis shoes. Why even bother with the fancy duds? Perhaps being a geezer, I like the magnum’s or their replicated alloys and some of the old classic chrome wheels. Too blah for the chrome-less I guess.Old school here as well. Those are much less "offensive" than the disproportionate, oversize rallye wheels. Here's my choice for my cars.
Jeg's 15 x 7 Sport Torque on R/T.
Repro 1-piece aluminum 15 x 7 Road Wheel on Polara.
