I went to the Doctors a couple of days ago for back problems from a wreck on the 680frwy by Lafayette Ca., I got sandwiched in between two fully loaded 1 ton carpet vans, that were racing to their next job, I hit so hard it stretched the seat belts to were I hit the windshield with my head & my fully laced high top tennis shoes were 4 lanes across the freeway... I was in in my 20's I got 2 compressed disc's & 2 compressed vertebra's, now in my 50's, I have some minor issues, Doc said I'm fine, I don't like pills really, I'm just taking aspirin for now, but I will probably need stronger med.s & to have surgery latter in life, I was 6'-2" in my prime, I'm now 6'-1/4", It's been a long time since I have been measured but, I am amazed, I have lost almost 2" in height in 30 years & injuries.... That freaken really sucks...

Holy crap! At that rate you will end up like Tatoo from Fantasy Island in two months! Haha!

OK, seriously, that sounds like one hell of a hit and glad you don't have something worse going on. I'm sure I don't have to tell you to take it easy!

Sounds like that was pretty bad Bud... Sure hope you get to feeling better, it sucks but as tall as you are, you wont miss that couple inchs (HEIGHT) lol.. Unless Meep is right, Hope you don't get the feeling of yelling "Its the plane!" Ha ha..

You know stuff happens, that's life, thanks for the humor guys, I'm just so feaken bored, I think half my back problems lately are from inactivity, it's nothing that a hot voluptuous female couldn't temporally cure ... look boss "da plane, da plane"

Sorry to hear about your back problems. Believe me, I feel your pain. I injured my back 25 years ago and it's never been the same. Good days and bad days. Ibuprofen works about as good as anything for me, taken with a shot of whiskey.

Hey I forgot to put it in the original post, it's Mopar specific but, I was in my 1976 or 1978 Power Wagon I don't remember which one they both were totaled at one point or another, but It was the only vehicle to drive away from the wreck, a little worse for ware..Ha Ha.., but it moved on it's own power, all the other cars & 2 vans were hauled off on the hook... On another note my dog I had at the time "Duke" a 100lb Black Lab was stuck wedged under my dash, at the time I was more concerned about having no shoes, with glass everywere & my poor dog, he was fine after all, just a cut on the head, my pain started to be really bad the next day...

Glad your dog was OK! I worry about some yo yo running into me every time i have my dog with me too - but he just loves to go too much to leave him home.
Seriously though, the compression does accelerate with age. We all shrink some as we get older - just normal 'settling'. But this does sound a bit excessive. From some earlier comments you have made on other threads, I think you're a year [ +/- ] older than I. I've only lost about 1/2" tho... A good, and I emphasize GOOD, cause there aint many, Chiropractor and some stretching exercises can help those spinal compression issues some.
Of course the hot voluptuous female remedy you mentioned works even better. May not help your spinal compression, but you wouldnt really care or worry about it then! :)

I thought that this was a thread about swimming in cold water.
Just kidding.... Red 70 from DC here... Good to see you here!

Bud, like said above, it accelerates with age. A helicopter crash, too many parachute jumps, a motorcycle wreck and other issues have my spine totally messed up. Like you I lived for years with exercise, and OTC pain killers. In 2001 they told me I had neck problems I didn't know about. By 2007 it had progressed to where my arms weren't working and I had to have a 3 level cervical fusion. I felt great after that, until I went back to work. Neck problems came back, and the lumbar/thoracic problems accelerated until I was disabled in 2010. No appeals, no denials, no problems, they looked at my medical records and Poof... no more work. Since then things have still been gettin worse and it looks like there is no stopping point until I'm wheelchair bound. Fight it as much as you can, stay busy, and take care of yourself, there's always hope. Age is our enemy

I've always been 6'6" since high school. I just got measured a few weeks ago for a physical and now I'm at 6'5.5", so I've lost a 1/2" somewhere.

Thanks guys I am trying to stay as active as I can & do a bunch of stretching & twisting moves to stay limber, I am a Golf Pro & have been for a decade or so, Ha Ha, when the weather permits anyway {it's freaken snowing again}, so my back stays pretty limber {well mostly} & is subjected to allot of torsional movement, while giving lessons, playing rounds &/or in tournaments or doing equipment repairs while standing at my work bench for long periods of time {which business is very slow, so it's not happing much lately}, is were it bothers me the most... I saw a couple of old ex-rays that shows my injury from back in the 80's, I can see the area clearly is smaller than the rest, I haven't seen the latest yet, The Doc said an 1" would be in the normal range {the rest is from injury}, especially for some one who worked as a carpenter & in many types of construction 25+ years {still do occasionally}, lifting beams, standing walls, getting in all sorts of strange positions while hammering &/or lifting stuff & carrying heavy materials, like beams, steel & wood, sheet rock, lumber, tools, wearing heavy pouches, bending over constantly doing lay out, framing, plumbing, electrical, etc., for as many years as I did... And working on cars & a couple of car & motorcycle/quad wrecks & racing jarring the hell out of my back, some big hits & negitive G's by the chutes being deployed, all of it didn't help much either... Thanks again for the encouragement & advise guys, I just needed to vent a little, I'm fine for now, JUST SHORTER & fatter but that's a whole different subject...

if you want to keep your back from shrinking with a HOT female,i think it would work best if you're hanging up side down, but then you would have to post in the blue forum.
