i bought new letters for hood '67 charger a number of years ago. don't know how to put them on.
there is a plastic sleeve on tips. does it stay on or not? if it stays on i will have to drill holes bigger.
if it comes off do i fasten letters on with push nuts? no threads on points.
thank you, bruce
The sleeves get tossed.
Wax the area before installing.
You need speed nuts like the one shown.
They cut a little groove by themselves.
Make sure they have the correct inside diameter.
Carefully try a couple on in your hand before trying a letter on the hood.
Use a nut driver and not real tight.
It's not tough just take your time.
I would run the speed nuts on and off once before installing. It’s less frustrating than finding out in the middle of installing them in tight spaces that a speed nut is too big but won’t back off, or not correctly cutting threads on the stud.
