I need some help with installing a comp cams 1621-16 shaft mounted rocker arms. I need the layout of the right and left hand rockers for each side of the engine.
Also how do you get the rollers lined up correctly on the valve when you have .030 to .040 on each set of valves ?

I have the 1621-16 as well. This pic is from Hughesengines and should line up the same way.

Thanks I'll try that

I am in the process of installing the 1621-16 as well, and need some assistance. The manual from comp cams states, that the clearance between each set/pair of lifters, should be minimun 0.030..........it also states, that fitting may be required due to the holddowns being stampings - and when bolted down, the clearance is much tighter than the specified 0.030.
Question: Do I just shave the ends on the holddowns untill I reach the specified clearance of 0.030 on each set/pair of lifters?

Tap on the end tangs of the stock hold downs with a hammer to get more clearance.

Thanks, for the tip, but I actually allready tried that. Currently, the clearance on the 4 pairs of lifters are: 0.030 - 0.010 - 0.005 and 0.010..........there is no way, I can pick up a total of 0.065 clearance without shaving the hold downs, as I see it. But let me know what you think.

Ive had to shave, sand, grind on the holddowns to achieve the proper side clearances. I have found out if you switch the hold downs around sometimes due to inconsistency with the cylinder heads what did not have sufficient clearance on one now has proper clearance on the other head.
It will be time consuming because of sanding reassembling, remeasuring everything.
Don't feel bad, I have done what you are doing on every big block with adjustable rockers, whether its comp, crane, dove, or old school isky rockers.
Kudos to you for doing things right the first time.

But not as time consuming as having to rebuild the engine again :)
Thanks, I will get cracking.
