my interior stays on now, 1966 plymouth satellite, tryed the normal stuff, whats next?? thanks ed

Need to isolate the jamb switches, map light, console wires and the switch contacts on the head light switch. The yellow wire is going to ground somewhere. I would isolate one circuit at a time and leave it open until you find it. The pink wire is always hot. Yellow controls the ground to the bulb.

Did the normal stuff include verifying that your headlight switch knob isn't rotated fully counter-clockwise? Yes, it's basic but thought better to ask than to assume.

You need to verify power or continuity with a meter thru the jamb switches and the headlight switch
Power is not a problem as the bulb works. He has the yellow ground circuit wire going to ground somewhere. I posted in #2 what he needs to do.

One other item to consider is the bulbs. Rare but possible are two bulb possibilities. One make sure they are double contact. If single contact it could be possible to touch a contact in the socket and use the filiment to either cause a ground or blow a fuse depending on witch one it could touch. Two the bulb could have an internal defect with the wire in the base touching the outer shell. If the lamp is grounded the bulb could complete the ground. If the lamp is isolated like the ones in the plastic console this wont happen. A dome or courtesy it could. Like I said rare but possible.

will try that, had a headliner put in, thats when this started, he had those scokets out, ed
