I am looking to replace my interior window trim on my 68 GTX. When I am looking for sources I can only find the 4 piece set without the corners.

However, I can find several sources that have the 6 piece set with the corners for a 68 Coronet. I may be an idiot, but I did not realize the window or the window trim was different between these cars.

I’m betting your GTX had the one piece wind
lace

Isn't that stapled to the package tray board?

Thats the lower piece. the sides and top are the one piece wind lace. Ive pulled three sets
including the one in my 69 bee and all have been the wind lace.I if you can find a 69’ to 70’ 4 door they have it all the way around and is plenty to do the 2 door models.

I just removed mine last night. There were several plastic pieces. All of them removed easily including the bottom which attached the same way. Nothing was attached to the package tray.

both types were used but i haven’t determined if it is late model 69 or a plant
thing. Wayne’s (@dadsbee) car is a lynch road
built car i believe it has the windlace type trim.

So, we're talking REAR window trim? I just bought the three piece kit from Year One, but it came from
www.trimparts.com. It's semi rigid plastic and comes in black only. You have to make sure you pick the
right kit because my first try was wrong! The seal at the bottom is more pliable than the top two pieces.
It also comes with a small piece for over the center top joint. What color is your headliner?

Yes, sorry rear window. I want to get the right stuff which is why I am checking in with y'all. My interior is ALL Maroon/(Carpet, seats, dash, door panels, headliner, upper door moldings)

I am cool with black as I have the paint mixture I can spray out in the booth.

Hey Guys- Somewhat perfect timing for my questions. What exactly is window lace? I removed my original package tray since the factory perforated slots on one side had cracked years ago and to hide it, I covered with speaker grill plates, cosmetic reasons only. Over the years, I noticed the bottom interior window/package tray trim piece was pulling away from the center area of the window-the section where it bows out towards back of car. This is a 69 Sport Satellite with window and trim pretty much same as GTX, if not exactly the same. I just removed the original tray, and just that lower trim piece. The package tray appears to fit inside the groove of the trim piece facing front of car, and somehow the rear side of trim is attached to the window glass side. How does it attach? Do you put that in place first and then fit the package tray into the grooved trim, or attach trim piece to tray and put them into place against the rear window as a unit? Hope my question is clear. The window is in the car, and hopefully doesn’t need to be off to affix the lower trim piece as described. The side and upper trim is intact and in place, I don’t want to remove it, as it’s in good shape. Attached is marked up photo of the piece in the area that had pulled away from inside glass. Any help and information is greatly appreciated. Thanks

The lower trim is attached to the package tray with staples and then the package tray with the trim attached is installed as one unit

Thanks. I don’t recall seeing any staples holding the trim to package tray, but can double check. I know that what’s there is original to the car, as I purchased it from the original owner in 1976, and it was all original and that area was untouched by myself other than adding the speaker grill covers to hide the broken slots. Anyhow, do I just push the tray and trim back as far as possible against the window, or does the trim edge somehow lock into place or is there putty or something in the space that grab the trim edge with the package tray pushing against it secured with the clips and screws. Is my question clear? Thanks for your reply.

yep just push it back against the glass and install the two angle brackets that holds the
front of the tray

Ok. Thanks again for your help!

I am not saying anyone is wrong, but mine was not stapled to the package tray. Also as you can see in these pics, the window trim from my GTX has corners.

There are two different types of interior trim for rear glass in 69. The trim you have in your pics are for what I believe to be an early built 69’ and the windlace type trim with the lower piece that attaches to the package tray is a late 69’ build.
