Hello, just wanted to introduce myself.
I hail from Northern California, where I have a little car collection, not all of them mopars. In order: 1) 1964 Pontiac Tempest, 2) 1964 Pontiac Grand prix 3) 1971 Charger 500 383 2BBL AC car 4) 1971 GMC C15.
I hope this doesn't get me thrown out of the forum I am new to this hobby/addiction and have to admit to knowing pretty close to nothing except how not to get ripped off (already happened). I am however, luckily, as I am surrounded by some very nice mopar enthusiast who have been able to guide me. This forum is also provides invaluable information.
My charger is painted Top Banana, and is in pretty good shape although the original owner didn't check the right boxes when buying the car. It has the original number matching 383 2bbl Carburator engine, a torqueflite (SP?) and an 8 1/4 rear end with highway gear. Needless to say, it is a blast to drive (note irony here). Nonetheless, it find the car to be beautiful, it just need a little work. In that respect, it is going to get a suspension and steering upgrade (firm feel), the motor is going to be rebuilt and stroked .030, and I am taking care of odds and ends such as re-doing the rally gauge cluster, trying to find a tick tach clock and addressing some small rust issues under the vinyl top. I would of course like to own other mopars, a Hemi car would be nice but definitely out of my budget so, in a couple of years, I will be looking for a 1971 duster or Demon.
Hoping this provides enough of an introduction.
Respectfully,
Anybody.
