Its kind of funny for any mainstream newspaper to call something whacky....Is it worth it? depends on how bad you want it....

Anyone know how much the Superbirds sold for new? Of all the times I have attempted to look up their history I have never heard what their original sale price was. Normally that part was filled in with a question mark. Is there any reason for this?

Those cars were selling for $1M at Barrett Jackson in 06 and 07. New they were in the area of $4200.00 to 4600.00. http://www.supercars.net/cars/1456.html

The one in this particular article is stated as having sold originally for $5,503.00 in New Jersey.

"Supposedly" a friend of mine who restored a one-owner hemi Superbird was just told by the owner that she was offered 1 million for it by one of the guys from Fast and Loud at Hot August Nights, but refused to sell because of sentimental value. This is just hearsay on my end, but I trust the friend of mine. crazy to think that kind of money is still getting thrown at the wing cars.

Just like real estate a car is worth whatever the market dictates... The birds are a sought after item by collectors with big money so them yes.. It's worth it
