Is this a real Car?

I could never wrap my head around a sporty car not having a tachometer as standard equipment.

I guess it was a tactic to lure the public with a sporty car and then upcharge them for options that should be standard.
Not having a tach really don’t bother me on those cars because most of them were junk anyways and quit working but now the column shift, I have a problem with that.

Just remember that $25 was a lot of money in 1970 and the cars were expensive.

Now a days all the common options are in packages, not individual like the old days

A 22" radiator was standard with the 3.23 ratio on 440-4 and 440-6. There are shaker six pack Cuda's with a 22" rad.

Yes the tach is junk and the column shift is actually better that a console. Fit more people and less money. But I'd rather have a console.

I have no problem with the column shift, my road runner came that way and it didn't slow me down. And the lack of tachometer would be more important with a manually shifted car. I really like the colour combo.

More people, but not overly comfortable

I always shift by ear anyway, I don't look at the tach most of the time.
That must get tricky shifting with your ear.....how do you keep your eyes on the road ahead while doing that?

I guess you could use your nose to change the radio station at the same time.

Until the FBI or some other lawful agency starts prosecuting these obvious scams let the buyer beware.

My 4-speed 68 Charger R/T didn't come with a tach.

I ordered a 68 Road Runner and went with the clock because the Tach would be on the right side of the dash and so small it was pathetic. I put a Sun tach on the steering column. You would have had to take your eyes off the road to read the tach. Here they build a hot rod and dash was lacking all the bells and whistles needed for that kind of car. I also had to put oil pressure and good temp. gauge in.

I'm pretty sure the upper radiator hose should attach to the 22 inch radiator on the drivers side, not the passenger side.

Regarding gauges and tachs... that was another big seller we did in the garage back in the day. Factory did not spend $$$ on things like gauges, audio, speakers, etc. Sun Super Tach was a common install, along with under dash gauge pod.
