Location
Los Angeles
The lead photo is believed to be James Dean Last picture taken while he was alive, it's located in Sherman Oaks California, about 3/4's of a mile from my house...this is what the location looks like now, it's a flower shop. The indentations are still there from the gas pumps where they were anchored. Now for the Mopar part: the Ford wagon with the trailer was driven by James' good friend Bill Hickman, who drove the '68 Charger in "Bullitt" and also drove in "The French Connection" plus many other many other movies in the '60's & 70's. He was also the first to the accident scene a few minutes later....he pulled James out of the car and held him until he took his last breath. james11.jpgmy b-day 006.JPG

I know a good bar in Sherman Oaks. When in Los Angeles for Fall Fling maybe you can show us this spot for a photo. I love this kind of History and never heard this before. Bill Hickman. One of the best bad-guys ever.

That's really cool and a Greta photo with a great story. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting story, thanks for sharing with all of us... I learn something cool &/or new here @ FBBO almost everyday...

Sounds like a plan, we'll meet up at the Fling and I'll take you by there...along with "The Brady Bunch" house.

You're welcome Duda, I thought the Mopar guys would like it. Mr. Dean also lived about two blocks from that gas station. He was on his way from picking up his Porsche in Hollywood, (about 7 miles away), this was his local gas station, where he filled-up prior to heading up north where he was killed.
