I don't know what the deal is with UPS, but they insist on doing the packing for items to be insured. This is round 2 trying to get a restored AC box. This is the second time the packing has been so utterly shitty that the A/C box arrived in pieces :mad::mad:.

UPS sucks, I have had more damaged stuff from them than any other carrier, I think they throw the stuff out of the van as they sail on by!

Same here UPS is horrible....I can hear the bang of a box hitting the ground in my living room...I always try to catch the guy but there goes the NASCAR ups truck...

Typical, union, no accountability no reprimand workers.....One day I will have some choice words.....

fed ex destroyed a perfect 65 satellite grille I had sold....... speaks more to the work ethic and responsibility of the new generation of employees IMO........

I've turned down out of area interest on my sculptures because i will NOT ship...period. None of them care & they always throw & overstack. Have received way too many crushed pkgs with broken contents in past to ever change my mind.
I lived next to a a fed ex hub for 2.5 years in Costa Mesa, seperated only by chain link fence & got a bird's eye on how they handle ****.......like ****.....not an ounce of caution.

i will build a wooden box and ship it freight, but it has to be worth it

Yup.....only about the paycheck....they could give a **** about a job well done.

trying hard not to become a grumpy old prick...... but I have very little use for millennials........**** went bad somewhere along the line, and it happened in the 90s.........

UPS aka Oops

Stopped using UPS 10 years ago. They are slow and they can even break a cast iron manifold then tell you it wasn't packaged properly. Have a FedEx account.

That's too bad. I've never had anything but good luck with UPS. Their ground crew is exceptional. Up here anyway. The delivery guy up here is courteous and slows down for my dogs. Even when they jump in his van and try to go with him. Lol I suppose the same cannot be said for all areas of the country.
Anyway I will stick with UPS anyhow. They are soo-oo much better than the Post Office who regularly breaks my stuff and delivers my paychecks to the neighbors or leaves my packages outside in the rain.
Or on the bumper of my truck so that it gets run over. My post office does things like lose my vehicle registration and lose my health insurance renewal notifications.

Maybe I'm just so use to my post office being worthless that a mediocre UPS looks like Reagan compared to Obama.

Anyway my UPS guy is a cool dude and does his job well. Maybe the corporate office should take note

I was told today that the majority of the items are not broken by the drivers, but by their conveyor belt system at the distribution hubs. They have no real controls in place for blockages in the system. If your box happens to be unlucky enough to be caught in a jam, the following items keep slamming into the blockage causing most of the damage. The almighty abacus loving suits decided on an acceptable loss policy that figures it's cheaper to payout claims than spend the money to fix the system. However, they are ignoring the perception this creates with us consumers, because the first thing I think when the box is mangled is some damned kid just tossed it on the truck with no regard for what could be inside.

I also have a perfect batting average with UPS but quit using them due to price increases plus they got to where they would always up charge me because of my weight being wrong. I'd drop the box off at the local UPS store (pre paid) and their scale would always read a bit less than mine but it didn't matter. The up charge was usually 2-3 bucks. Screw that mess. Now the post office hasn't been bad but since I started using priority mail (if it fits it ships box), things have been 100%. Just wish they had a bit larger priority box. When shipping something that's heavy, the box gets modified and shipping something to Hawaii (like gears), UPS or FedX can't even come close to the price. The biggest problem using those 'if it fits it ships' boxes is that they are light weight so you have to reinforce them which can take up some time to do......and tape the snot out of them.
