jetting a Holley

I am about ready to set up my used Holley. 3310 -750cfm. Street and occasional strip 64 Dodge B body. . It will have the secondary changeable jet block. Hand choke. Dual inlet with just the front bowl accelerater pump. 440 engine with about 9.5:1 cr. Edelbrock Performer dual plane intake. about 1" spacer. Probably 5500 rpm max. About .475 lift on the cam. My question is-- what jets do you recommend I start with . I'm thinking 68 primary and 76 secondary
Any other suggestions, I want the carb to look early stock. Thanks for your input.....................MO
 
I thought jetting always depended on your altitude?
 
if im not mistaken that 3310 has a meter plate instead of a block on the rear bowl. if it does u cant change rear jets just plates
 
kidmopar should be correct.vac secondary carb with meter plate,not jets in the secondary.as far as were to start up front,find out what the carb came with originally and start there.your prob gonna have to change em anyhow,so why not start with what holley put in it.
 
For a 440 with a spacer I would go larger on the jetting. The factory jet size is 72 on the primary. I'm currently running 72's on the primary and 78's in the secondary. I still may have to richen the secondaries. My motor is a mild 383 with a Torker 383 intake and stock hp cam. The carb is a 3310-2 with the conversion secondary metering block.
 
How will you be checking your jet selection:book1: o/2 sensors or plug reading??:blob1:

Are you going to be using a power valve in that rear metering block, or is it plugged?
Mine is an 850 DP Holley and has the rear PV plugged. I run 82 in the front and 88 in the rear.... I also have a 50cc accelerator pump, and I think the discharge nozzles are are #34's and are the tube type.
I run the 6 size bigger rule of thumb on the secondaries because of the plugged PV.
 
I would start by disconnecting the secondary diaphragm link and get the primary dialed in first. 72 jets sound correct for the primary.
 
Thanks for the replys folks Good help. Here in the cornpatch we are about 1300ft. elevation. I will be checking plug readings, but with todays fuel, it is hard to do. I may have to look into an inexpensive 02 sensor meter. Yes, the stock 3310 metering plate has been ditched and a jet block installed. I haven't decided on whether or not to use the secondary power valve.
Back in the day I would set my primary jets first, by highway driving only on the primaries, clutch, shut engine off, coast to a stop and read the plugs. Secondary jets was experiment till it doesn't bog and runs hard. ..........................MO

Good luck, I'm still experimenting myself. For the record you only have a power valve on the primary side. 4150's i.e. double pumper, with mechanical secondaries have an additional power valve and secondary accelerator pump.

440 +.030" .140" domed pistons Victor heads, Victor intake, .590" lift Mopar Solid lifter cam and 1.6:1 rockers. This makes .630 lift.
