The Joe Dirt Mobile is out of the paint shop for the second time to fix minor flaws from prior paint job and nick's I contributed in reassembly. The only panels that did not need something were the roof, driver door and left front fender, so I had them reshoot the entire car. Last time was 25 months in the paint shop and this was less than three weeks. Same paint shop. Brought the car home to sit in the air and sun for two weeks before going back for sanding and buffing. Then minor reassembly and second set of new carpets and it will be done. I will have had the car five years as of Thanksgiving. I had hoped to have it done by it's 50th birthday, but missed that a little since the 2018's are already out.
I am excited!

Every issue has been resolved and the car is 100 percent. Everything works, and working as it should. I guess under five years is not bad considering the 25 months in the paint shop the first go round. This is the first car I restored so quite a learning curve. I am sure it will also be my last. I took a vow that the car was not going to discourage me or bankrupt me before it was completed to my satisf.action. My wife supported the Vipers and the Hellcat, but has not been much of a cheerleader on this one. She did help me reinstall the dash after I rebuilt it on the dining room table and repainted the inside of the hood letters with paint she had to bake in the oven to cure.
