John Denver Plane Crash Explained

The 3 most useless things when flying:
1 - Altitude above you
2 - Runway behind you
3 - Fuel on the ground

25 years ago and NOW we're getting the cause ?!?!?

it's been known for years...he took off without a full main take, and the controls to switch tanks were in a very akward spot behind the pilot's seat. Autopsy showed no drugs or over the limit booze.

So why do we care now - is it the anniversary or something ??

Hey, you guys know Elvis is dead, right ?!?!?

Well, if you don't like the thread.........kinda like American politics.

I am sure it has to do with the recent release of the youtube video. It was put up by the OP for discussion. If you have nothing to add or don't care....move along.

I flew for the majority if my military career. Maybe we have superior training, but fuel was NEVER missed. Aircraft were fueled upon landing after last flight. It was checked during the PMD ( Prevetative Maintenance Daily) Inspection. It was checked again on the Pre-Flight. A fuel sample was taken before flight ,and saved until the aircraft landed, to ensure there was not water or debris in the system. I owe my life to these checks and balances. I had several emergency landings, but none for a fuel issue.
