Hey guys, stupid Q here... Was there any other tranny available on big blocks besides the 727 i

If by "Juke box days" you mean the '50's...

From '54-61, yes there was a Power Flite two speed auto. And before 1962, introduced in 1956 the three speed auto was the A-488 Torqueflite which had a cast iron case.
 
Wasn't there a clutch-flite, with a clutch that you didn't have to use unless you wanted to?

The clutch flite was a creation of the trans builders of the 60's. I know B&M made them, I had one for a while. Never ran it... planned for a nostalgia drag car project that never got built. I did hear of them being run on the street but have no first hand experience. And by the way the 727 is a pretty bulletproof unit with a good rebuild.

Well if that transmission was behind a small block in the first place, it won't have the 'B' bellhousing... Early Hemi engines and the Polys had the same bellhousing as later smallblocks.
 
No it's a 413. i have not seen it, I'm only seeking info for my brother who is helping out a Handicapped friend. 32 Ford sedan 413 with suposed 727 that's "PUSHBUTTON" drive. Says there is no filter in the tranny and can't see where one would go.

Just talked witg my brother, the pan is square, so we KNOW it's not a 727. The dipstick tube screws into the side of the pan ???? Any ideas? Don't know if it's a 2 or 3 speed. And though question was not considered before, my brother believes it's an aluminum case. #'s on pan rail read 220475325 1885665. He grabbed this info while he was there sometime yesterday. So when we were talking, he was no longer at the car
 
If the pan is square, or rectangular, then it is likely the earlier A-488 torqueflite. Check the case to verify that it is cast iron and not aluminum. Also, this transmission had no "park" feature, relying on the parking brake. Some had a driveshaft mounted brake for this purpose. Some sources list this as a A-466 transmission as well. Does your pan look like this?
