I like the show Fast & Load, they don't pretend to be anything they aren't, if you saw the last show, "they lost money", on the 52 Ford Gasser, had supposedly had like $21,000 in it & sold it for only $16,500 "I think it was" & made a few thousand on the 32 Pontiac they got for $8500 at a swap meet, they went down somewhere else in Texas, then towed it back to their shop, on a trailer, fuel costs & whatever on the road, then just got running, replaced fuel lines & hoses, then just really cleaned up, then sold it for $12,000, tidy profit there, both cars were sold at a "Mecum Houston", "I think", "at no reserve" auction sale... The purpose of being in business, "is making money quickly", so you can cover expenses & payroll, sitting on something & spending a ton of money on something to make a small profit isn't good business practices... I also have wondered the same thing why it seems, all the TV fab/car/bike shows have the premise of "get r' done", in a short unreasonable amount of time... I'm sure the production costs & keeping some more of the "less die hard" restoration people watching regularly & selling commercials etc., to pay for the show, is maybe better than, a long drawn out restoration, that seems like nothing is ever getting done, from week to week, would be boring as hell on a once a week TV show, to the less than die hard types, only the "true **** retentive or purest", kind of like me & some others here, would ever watch it probably... Well, Thats my thoughts anyway...
