Hey guys hows it going I just picked up a set of Hp manifolds for $250.00 Ive been keeping my eyes open for some and they were always going for so much so when I saw these for $250.00 I picked them up. So how did I do is this an ok price they are date coded 11/69 it did say heat riser flap hole welded shut dont think this will be an issue though. thanks guys

You did good. I have seen them for three times that. I have a correct nice pair from my 69 Coronet R/T with a working heat riser that I would take $250 for anytime.

so I was looking at the pics and realized I could see the serial numbers I ran them and they seem to be coming back as to different years one seems to be a 70-71 B-C body left and the other comes back as a 68-69 440 magnum right. now im worried I bought a non matching set I just wrote the guy to make sure that is not the case. hp manifold left side.jpghp manifold right side.jpg

I think they are gonna work fine I just have to figure out what im gonna do for downpipes

well found out what im gonna do for the head pipes TTi apparently you give them your manifold casting numbers and they fab them up for you $183.00 may have to do that seems it would be the easier way to go.

should be fine, same on one side for ban d c body, just differnent number thats all
.

The left one is a 70/1 B/E. Can't read the number on the right one but will work. Is a BB HP. If it ends in 900 its a 68/9B.
The main difference between the years is the clocking of the flange.
HP C-bodies use the same right manifold but a different left one. Has ribs and the flange is kicked towards the side more.
The right HP manifold is the harder one to find as the left HP was also use on LP motors with 3-spd tranny.
Also 250.00 is about the going price.

Question - how do you guys feel these manifolds affect power vs a set of headers? Not talking about a stroker - just a mild/moderate built iron headed RB motor. I always liked the look of the HP manifolds and have seen em with a nice custom fab'd down tube. Looks pretty sweet to me.

is the heat riser even needed im guessing no since headers dont have them.
The heat riser runs the exhaust from one side of the engine through the intake and to the other exhaust manifold which heats up the carb faster. Works well in the cold north but I don't like it in the hot south and always fixed them to stay open.

Headers, decent ones at least will free up the flow quite a bit. I've never had an engine that didn't respond well to the addition of headers.

The weight and heat reduction alone of the TTI's are enough to justify the change.

One of the big mopar mags did a comparision test between the hp stock exhausts verses headers and it was about the same as far as horse power rating the hp manifolds on these are very good for flow.. best wishes..

No, I digress. How much weight, perhaps 10-15 lbs? That's NOTHING! And, Headers are thin, flimsy metal that rusts and rots away. These HP manifolds flow as good, or almost as good as Headers.

Well I'm pretty irritated about this deal I bought these on ebay and paid last Tuesday but the guy who sold to me still hadn't shipped so I messaged last night. I was obviously not happy when messaging and basically just asked what the deal was and got a reply shortly after asking me to call him which I didn't want to do because I would have yelled on the phone. So I just asked if there was a problem and he said he was moving shops and couldn't find them till today and had just shipped them out this afternoon. I asked for a tracking number but have not recieved anything yet he's definitely not gonna be getting good feedback from me as he obviously doesn't care about customers. Well its the next day and I'm still very very irritated and needed to vent so there it is lol.

My buyer is UTL. Let me know if you want mine. By the way, it is more than a 15 pound savings going to Headers and every pound counts. Cooler too.

MRL Performance proved otherwise on the dyno. He went from standard manifolds to HP and saw literally zero difference. It's all documented over on FABO if you look for it.

Here's the deal with headers. They will lean the engine out because of their extra flow capacity. Unless you richen the mixture back up by adding a bigger carburetor or adjusting the one you have, you will not gain the headers full power potential on your engine. So in short, unless you're willing to tune and possibly swap parts, headers may not be for you. I kinda like the consistancy of manifolds. Once bolted on they are there for life. However, this time around I am putting headers on my big block goin in my Coronet, but they are high quality Dougs headers, not some BS header.

What's your feedback name? I don't want our paths to cross. You have no idea what's going on with your seller. You got your panties in a wad over one week? Is your seller located on the east coast? Ever considered he might be still affected by Sandy? Even if he's not, you don't know what he's got going on. At least he IS communicating with you. What's he get for that? Negative feedback? It's people like you that keep people like me from selling on Ebay. I'll never do it again just for that reason.

Don't know what you are doing out of bed at this hour. Back to the temp, if you stick your head under the hood it is much cooler under there with the TTI ceramic polished over-priced headers. Reason enough for me to toss the stock manifolds.

the only power gain with a moderate build with headers is all in your head. all they are is a problem. yeah theyre cool lookin' but it stops there. i dont see how headers flow better with all those twists and turns when stock manifolds are a straight shot directly out. they leak...they rust....they glow sometimes and now youre into a whole new can of worms with the carburetor. keep stock manifolds....and keep your sanity !
