Sounds like a stand-up guy. Glad to hear! At least it happened before the entire car gets assembled!

The paint rep from Pro Spray is coming to my place to take a look. My painter has a great reputation and many are scratching their heads on what happened and why it took 10+ months to show up. Time will tell and I've renamed the car Christine.

Very sorry to hear about the paint, but as others said, at least the painter is being a very stand-up guy about it.

Can you give us some details on brand and type. Looks to be single stage paints. So sorry this has happen. Had something similar happen to me dealing with the some acrylic enamel. I was spraying on a super hot day and the first coat set up completely before I could get around the vehicle (79 peterbuilt). Wasn't pretty. Sounds like the painter and supply house are going to step up. Hope it all comes out the best it can for you.

dont mind me asking.. what products were used? are we dealing with chemical Base and clear or water base and clear? either way.. the base was not dry or to dry.. ..clear letting go from color from what I view.. also... mixture of clear with to much reducer will cause this as well.. delaming from base color..


I work with this stuff on a daily base,, Ive seen way more than I care to tell..

pretty much is caused by misusage of materials...


Does it smell wet still?

It was Pro Spray paint and my painter is very good and well respected. He has painted several very high end cars. He's been painting classic cars for over 15 years and he might be more heartbroken than I am. The Pro Spray rep is supposed to come and look at the car this week.

The repaint is underway and look what we found. Pretty sure both were bought at the same time. Now i don’t know which is correct

Yep, they are taking care of me on the paint . Up to now I’ve been patient and told them it has to be 100% right. However my patience is running thin
