I was in Orange County in 1972 for the Winter Nationals. I returned in December of 2019 for my girlfriend's father's 90th birthday. I wanted to go to the Orange County Drag strip for old time's sake. No one seemed to remember it. I guess it closed a long time ago.

OCIR closed in Oct. 1983 IIRC
I raced my 23 T Altered there a couple times, 1977-83...
also went to races with my stepdad Bob
(64, 65, 67, 70 Judge Gto's/68 & 70 Firebird, 67 Fairlane GTA, 35 Ford PU)
from 1967 to 1973-ish, when we had 25+ drag racetracks here in Calif.
some killer 64+ F/C fields awesome cackel-fests,
always fuel Altered, P/S match racing, Gassers Galore etc.

I think it's a strip mall or housing project now
