Man just a few months ago I was getting promoted, asked to put in more hours as it was needed and then today they no longer need me and three others.

Sucks but hey have more time to work on my car :hello2:
Sorry just had to vent. Jim

Sucks!!
Been there done that and always around a holiday makes it worse.
Hope you get back on your feet soon!

I think I remember that thread and it seems like it was a facility or plant manager job. Sorry to hear about you losing the job but glad you have a good attitude about it. Post up some pics of the progress and I hope you find something else you like.

Sorry to hear about your job loss. It seems like everybody is getting laid off or knows somebody who has been in the last few years. With almost everything being made in China and illegal aliens flooding this country and the cabal in Washington on both sides of the aisle doing nothing to change this, the overall outlook in general looks bleak. I went to Sears yesterday to pick up some tools and walked out empty handed in disgust. Almost everything said "made in China". Even all the Levi brand Denim jackets had made in China on the tag.

Washington will never do anything to impede the job loss to China as they still want Chinese credit so we can borrow and pay interest on billions of dollars and then give it to foreign countries like Israel, Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc, as well as pay for huge socialistic government programs in this country. Their big dollar donors would be upset too to see their profits decrease even slightly to keep manufacturing here. In the Northeast I have attended many auctions at large manufacturing firms who were closing down operations here and exporting jobs due to high taxes, ridiculous government regulations, and inability to compete against foreign, often government subsidized manufacturing. Sad to see a lot of these jobs going to a country which threatens us with nuclear weapons and is KNOWN to have held American POW's from Korea and Vietnam.

Sorry about the rant, hope you find work soon...

a Better job will come along to a real "go getter" like you!:sunny:

& too many loafers :icon_confused:eek:ut there to keep you from getting yours..
take care,

Sonny

I remember when they announced we would be losing our jobs in '03. Same deal. Right at the holidays. I remember some dipshit study that said it is better to this at the holidays. I beg to differ. You were lookin when you found that job so, hang in there. Something will turn up.It just screws with your head. You did nothing wrong and get canned. It's hard to wrap your mind around.

hang in there jim,i hope things get better for you, there is always a sun behind those clouds and it will break through.

Hang in there. I got laid off a couple of times from the steel mill in the mid 70's when Japan was pushing so much subsidized steel into our 'open doors' and the gooberment only opened them wider. I'm convinced that our politicians are mostly commie pinko fags. Maybe someday soon people will get enough of this crap and start pushing back on them....

milt sorry to hear that and it seems they always do it coming into the holidays ,hope something good comes your way soon ,I`ve been out it seems like 3 months on medical hope that I can return soon :eusa_dance:

Hey Jim I am in the same boat I was laid off in September. I have been able to buy an old valiant and fix it up since then and have been able to get through the to do list on the house as well. Keep yourself busy and dedicate at least 2 hours a day for job searching, don't settle for anything you don't want to do and keep a positive attitude.

Sorry to hear this. Is the slowdown specific to your company or a seasonal thing for the industry?

I did notice the body shop that has had my car for six months has had no new cars coming in and is suddenly real interested in working on mine for a change. They must slow down over the holiday season, and being in Florida, get no bad weather related accident work increase. If I had known that, I would have waited to this time of year to take it in. On the down side, they may drink a lot more during this time period. LOL

Best of luck with the job search. Hopefully, they will call you back soon.

I can only imagine the anxiety that puts you through. And 'though it's bad news for you, I was glad to see that you held onto a bit of the brighter side with your "Sucks but hey have more time to work on my car " comment. Hang in there!

That sucks Jim, I mean that really bites the big one! Hope you get working soon.

This is a time of anxiety.......Take some Time Off first....... Believe in Yourself!......I hope all things work out for you.......

Jim sorry to hear that, I hope you find something you like even better, have fun with extra time working on the car...

Bummer Jim. You need any help working on the Bee then let me know. This happening around the Holidays makes it all the more disheartening. Stay the course and I am sure you will land something that suits your needs...cr8crshr/Tuck

Hang in there Jim. I know that you are going through a lot of anxiety right now but things will work out. Thing actually seem to be getting a little better up this way with construction picking up and a few major projects in the works. Some of my friends in the trades say that they are seeing some hiring and more work coming in. Use your time off to R&R and you will be back soon enough.

Jim have faith you will find another position. We have all experienced this in our career. We are going thru tuff times with China invading all manufacturing. I think it is finally coming to end. More and more companies are looking to move back. If you are a go getter your going to be fine. I have been their, was laid off many years ago when I got sick. I got my health back and got a job again.

Thanks Guys. The company I worked for made products for the military and with all of the cuts the orders were not coming in so somethings had to give. I survived the first round a couple of months ago as our dept. did not get cut but this time the crew was almost cut in half.

I will take my time as they are paying me until the end of December plus I get 5 weeks pay for the years worked plus 90 hours of vacation. Things always happen for a reason!!!!
