Well, just picked up a 66 belvedere II, not a v8 but i got a v8 k frame for it. Has a slant 6 out of a tractor in it, 3 speed column shift manual, no rust at all, one owner. even got the original plates on it. Paid a little too much, but got a hell of alot of iron for 3,000 dollars. It actually could be a daily drive as it sits. How did i do? Its one heck of a survivor. Not a ding on the whole car.

Needs a few things that are hard to find like lenses, and emblems... oh the dang gas cap too.

Congrats Oliver........Looks like you got a great deal! Welcome to the wonderful world of B-bodies and FBBO. Way to go!

Thanks guys, actually the champ pickup is the previous owners truck. heh

welcome.looks like you made a heck of a deal.

Beautiful. Plans? Just drive it or what?

Thanks, i plan to go a little weird with it. Going for lightweight. Put this belvy on the scales and it weighs 3100 with a full tank. Im going with a 340, aluminum OD a844 and aluminum bell housing. With this combo i should actually save about 60-75 pounds over the slant six/3 speed manual combo it has. Im also going to build the 8 1/4" or swap in a spare built up 9". This should make a pretty kick butt belvedere. I'm going to leave the exterior as is, and maybe throw a carpet kit, some weatherstripping, and a seat cover on it and drive it.

You didn't go wrong there! What makes you say the engine is out of a tractor?

Because, the previous owners son said the motor is out of an old power unit/tractor. After looking at the casting numbers and engine data plate it is an industrial motor that was built by tem engine corp out of washington.... real weird.

I've been watching this one on Craigslist. Nice score! Got any shots of the interior?

I know, i was contemplating it for like 2 months. I wanted to hold out for a v8, but this one was way too clean to pass up. Glad i made the journey up north. I'll get more pics today.

Shop is in vallejo, live in Orinda, spend most of my free time in walnut creek.

Heres a few more pictures of the car, probably put 100 miles on it so far. did not do anything to it, not even wash or vacuum it.
