So will we be able to order blocks from Best Machine now? I thought that Marsh and Ray Barton were the only distributors.

Hoping we can as Best did my last short block and them being in Michigan its an easy drive for me.

Wow theirs close to 30 blocks sitting there. That’s impressive!

1965 Hemi block on ebay $5000! Before go looking it has a little problem, it's cracked from mains to cam bores on 2,3 and 4 mains. Says don't buy it if your racing but ok for resto if you drive sensible. So he says.

$6500 is pretty steep but if you need a block...... maybe I'll hit powerball, probably get struck by lighting the day before.

$6500, hell even 7k isnt bad to me. Last block I had done I had $4600 in it. Thats on a 40 yr old block. Would rather put a little more into an engine I know will handle the hp I want for my next build.

$4600 in machine work? That seems high, I had I think $2000 in my 512.

I was under the impression they were more like $7500

Maybe by the time I’m in the market for one, the flow of blocks will be normal and I won’t have to wait forever to get one.

Just depends where you live. I had aluminum mains installed(the $4600 didnt include the cost of the mains), tall fill, oil mods, debur valley area and on and on. That was in 2006.

Heck back in 1988 it cost me 2k. Wish cost were lower. But the workmanship has been great. The 88 build lasted till 2002. This last one is going on 12 yrs.
