Hello Everyone, new to this site...can't wait to see what it all has to offer!

My question is I have a 1966 Plymouth Belvedere II (6 cylinder) that is my current restoration project. I have a built Supercharged 477 cid "stroker" Hemi engine built by Rod Marinucci of Plum Crazy Racing. This car is equiped with an original 6 cylinder K- Frame. So will a newer 1968-1970 B-Body K-Frame fit into my '66 Belvedere II? I am looking at a K- member from a 1970 Dodge Charger (V8). I will be installing the "Hemi" motor mount conversion kit on the (V8) K- member.

I sure appreciate your help!

Justin

Any 66-70 k frame (b body) will bolt in.

66-69 are the same, in 70 they changed a bit but it will bolt in and work. If you do use a 70 and want a sway bar, you may have to use the 70 set up. Other than that no problems
If you want a 66-69 V-8 member PM me.

I put a K frame, lower control arms & sway bar out of a '69 road runner in my '67 belvedere, and it was a perfect fit!

V8 K frames from E bodies will work too....if you're still looking, I have several. How many do you want? :D. And yes to the poster that mentioned the differences between 69-70 K's....the sway bar setup was changed in 70 and the K was made a bit different for that. I have one from a 70 Challenger in my 66 Belvedere.

Yes a E body K frame will bolt in, but the steering box angle is different. That's why 70 E bodies and 70 B bodies have different part number K frames.

How different is it? I noticed some difference but it wasn't enough to worry about I thought....

65 to 69 same. 70 to 72 B and 70 to 74 E body cars you need the complete front end assembly eceopt for upper control arms. The sway bar and lower control arms changed in 70. Also in 72 the steering box's got a bigger stronger pitman shaft and pitman arm.

Not sure what your saying. 65 has the same box angle but has the motor moved foward about 1.5", 66-69 are the same, 70 B body is it's own with the same box angle as 65-69 but has the new sway bar set up that passes through the center of the frame, 70-74 E body and 71-72 B body are the same. 70-74 E body / 71-72 b body will bolt in any of the earlier cars and LCA's will bolt up as the steering box will. The early sway bar may or may not work on this frame and the steering box angle was laid down just a bit. You will be able to get the column to go in but over time it will wear the steering coulmn to box coupler out. If you go with a aftermarket u-joint style coupler you should be OK

Alll upper controll arm will interchange without any problem as will all LCA's depending on if and what sway bar you run.
Did I loose everyone now?:tongueflap:

Lessening to your topic on k frame ,I both a gtx 72 this winter 2017 and redoing the under carriage I f the car and I notice the Swaybar one frame will not come out and as a v going up in the k frame ,the Swaybar in the k frame from 70 is relocated in a he front of the frame where they're is a skid plate welded to the middle of k frame . I have to cut the welding to remove the Swaybar and put a straight one in with no v in the middle.

Put in a motor plate call it good. May have to upgrade torsion bars though...
