I have a 71 b body k member in a 69 b body. We know that it throws off the power steering box alignment, what has anyone done to correct it? I was thinking of moving it over an inch and re-drilling the holes, or does Borguesin or anyone make an offset power steering box? Any advice would be helpful.

Shouldn't be too hard to find the correct k-frame for your car. I would think that would be the best solution.

I had a hard time trying to find one. I live in the Bay Area and Mopar parts are scarce.

There is not a problem with having a slight angle. I have a '71 Road Runner K member in my '70 Charger. If anything, you could put a shim or washer behind the left side where there is just one bolt.
I still have my original 1970 K member. The swap did not affect my alignment. My steering wheel was still centered and afterward, the headers did NOT hit the steering box like they did when I had the '70 K member in place.
66-69 V8 K members are not hard to find if you put out the feelers. I parted out a '68 Satellite Wagon a few years ago. I know of a guy in Las Vegas that parts out b body cars frequently.
VegasCharger at DodgeCharger.com is the guy.

If I may ask, what's the reason or advantage for such a swap?

Thanks!

At the time, I thought that they were identical. I had the '71 K member here and welded all the seams, added gussets to the steering box areas, welded washers around the Strut rod holes and lower control arm tubes....All in the effort to reinforce for LESS flex. I swapped that '71 k member in and never knew that it was different until I read about the slight angle difference at the steering box mounting area.
