There are lots of comments (mostly bad) about the bias-ply Firestone Wide Oval redlines from Coker, but not many about the bias-ply Goodyear Polyglas redlines from Kelsey.

If any members would share their experience about the Goodyear Polyglas from Kelsey it would be terrific!!

Many thanks!

Hi there, I'm considering ordering a set of these, but still debating 14" vs 15".

I'll have to get on my desktop for better pictures... to see if mine are Polyglas. Zero issues bought in 2017. Minimal weight to balance.

OK, couple of questions for you,
From Kelsey? Also, do you know if your tire guy did a static balance OR dynamic balance?
Thanks for chiming in!
Kevin

Kelsey has the moulds.. so yes.

As for balance, the tire shop I've used for 39 years continuously updates their equipment. I have no idea if it's static or dynamic and care less..they don't vibrate at 120... ;o)

I have bias-ply Firestone F-60/15 wide ovals on the front of my car. They are over 10 years old, but I'll bet they have less than 2,000 miles on them. I just noticed that the sidewall of one now has a bubble. So, chalk up another unhappy customer. The mistake won't be repeated!

use tire balancing bead bags, 4 oz bags are usually sufficient

I removed a set of Firestone redline bias plys. I hated how the car drove

Replaced them with Goodyear custom wide treads.

Car drove like a different car.

No complaints

I also bought the Goodyear bias ply redlines for the A12 . For bias ply it drove well, but I keep them for specific shows, I keep a set of Cragars and Mickey Thompson Sportman radials on most of the time, car drives like a Cadillac with those on.

Back in 1991 or so, I bought a 68 GTX that had Goodyear bias ply tires. I almost wrecked that car, she followed every crack in the road.
IMHO bias ply tires SUCK. I got radials on that car immediately. I like the look of them, and I get why people buy them, but not for me.

I had bias plies on my first three GTXs. On the third one, I switched to radials as soon as I got it home. What a difference. Did the same thing in reverse with the current one, drove home with radials, switched out to bias plies. I'm old, and barely drive the car now. Nostalgia finally won out over performance, most owners have different priorities.
