Sadly, I learned that Ken Montgomery passed away. Ken's '555' (triple Nickel) '65 Plymouth was well known and respected in the northeast. Anyone who had the privilege to meet Ken, met one of the nicest guys in drag racing. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
Ken Montgomery was truly a legend and had quite a loyal following. Raced his car in 6 decades!
I only spoke with him once, he would take the time to talk with anyone who would stop by his pit. RIP Mr. Montgomery, you will be missed.....
I am saddened to hear that Ken is gone.Used to see him & the wife several times a year.He was always at the York Reunion/Beaver Springs event.
I still have my triple nickel t-shirt.God bless Ken,,,,,,RIP:sad9:
RIP Ken Heck of a nice guy and well respected person and racer! My son and i received a trophy from him at a car show a few years ago. He picked our car over more exotic ones that where there which was very much appreciated
My father-in-law did some machine work for his engines - especially when it needed some extra care. I brought him down a hemi block just a couple of years ago. SUPER nice guy, showed me around his shop and his cars - even got an autographed model or two.
As said in many posts. Ken Montgomery was one of the nicest people you could meet as well as his family. His shop is not very far from me and I have spoken with him several times about Hemi and Max Wedge issues. He was from the old school like Sox and Martin. No Torqueflites there. They all shifted four speeds. Although Ken did not reach the absolute pinnacle, he is in the NHRA Hall of Fame, with quite a few records. He will be greatly missed.
