Any of you guys running a TKO from Keisler on your big block? I was handed down my dad's RR recently and he has one new in the crate to go in the car. The person he had restoring his car ripped him off and never delivered the stroker motor he ordered so I'm looking at building a 440 I have to put in the car.

If anyone has info on do's and don'ts for what the trans can handle from actual experience I'd like to hear it. Thanks for the help.

look up silver sport transmissions. they purchased all of the keisler stock and production after keisler went out of business.

Well the link was a huge help. Guess I won't be going too wild with the 440 build having a max load rating of 500 ft/tq

Mine is a little over 500 torque, no problems there with the TKO 5. Do you know what year it was purchased? Mine from 2002 has 2-3 high rpm shift issues that involve "early" Keislers.
Also leaks a lot. Cruising gears are perfect though with the 3:54 Dana. Gene at a Silver Sport was a Keisler employee who bought the business. He is helpful on phone and was probably there when yours was purchased. Was sent to him by moparedtn.

Had 2 cars with them, one small block 372 stroker and big block 451 stroker. Same as Dennis the early ones were almost impossible to power shift and had allot of grinding.Regular driving not a problem.I didn't have any leakers but neither got many miles before the cars were sold and never seen again.
I can't remember what car I had to trim a ear off of the tranny to clear the floor, but I think it was the B body.

I bought a Kessler 5 speed in 2001. Had leaks from day 1. Gave it back to him at Carlisle in 08 regarding leaking. I got it back and started leaking again. Maybe it's good they went bellyup. But he sure made an impact with getting the tremec to fit in an ebody. Cruising at 70 at 2000 RPM's is sure nice.
