Was finishing up the Lokar stuff on the RoadRunner and my friend stopped by with the 70 GTX was finally able to give him a ride in the Roadrunner after 2 years lol. Cam wiped and now its all fixed and just doing small repairs. So far I have installed new PST inner and outer tie rods,Knockoff Lokar throttle and trans kickdown linkage,Holley Sniper and hyper spark. And tomorrow I will replace the transmission lines. But anyhow had an opportunity to take some pictures. So here they are.

Yea its nice.. Its a 440 5-speed has the tubular K-frame and all the goodies I just don't like his aftermarket wiring and gauges. Other than that sweet car.

I'm not really into the aftermarket K frames, I will accept a 5-speed for driveability. Aftermarket wiring??? Still a good looking car.

When I took him for a spin he said the Roadrunner felt better than his car. I guess you shouldn't really mess with proven stuff. The roadrunner is a little sloshy in corners but then again they never were roadracing cars.

That can be fixed with shocks, torsion bars, frame connectors and other frame braces, as well as a bigger sway bar. My 67 Satellite with the 5.7 and a 5 speed, handles like it's on rails.

Funny note on how I met JJ the guy with the yellow car.. When the roadrunner first got here it was completely torn down but ran and drove with no glass what so ever. Anyhow when I was putting it all back together Me and Mike went to Home Depot for something not really sure what that was. But as we were walking out to the car JJ pulls through with his old 69 GTX I stopped him and asked him if I could look at a couple things to make sure I have them correct. He was cool enough to let me check out the car and take pictures of the items i was questioning. Anyhow fast forward a few months and I happened to see a Carter carb that was a 1969 carter it was for a 440 not a 383 but hell for 50 bucks I couldnt pass it up. So I send him and email and a couple hours later I get a reply and its the very same guy I was talking to about the way the car was put together. So ever since then I have been working on his stuff as well as the Roadrunner.. JJ is an Army vet and just an all around cool dude.

Here are JJ's other cars he had the yellow one when I met him then he bought the orange one then went back to yellow on the 70.

Aftermarket gauges, to me take away from the beauty of that cluster. Much can be done to improve the accuracy and performance of those gauges without destroying their looks.

I think I have Mikes Roadrunner just about the way I like it. He had a budget of 1500 bucks he could sink back into the RR Hes now up to about 4 grand lol. I laugh because he also calls it my car.

My friend Johnny that helps with a lot of wrenching and general helpings me, will act like every car I have is his when I'm not around.
Someone came by one day while I was there and he wasn't and told me, "I came to look at Johnny's cars". I was shocked at the expression on his face when I told him Johnny lives across the street and up two houses and by the way that white Dodge truck in his yard is mine too." By the way I pay him for his help and he takes his bragging rights. On the other hand he is as good a friend as you can get and would give you the shirt off his back. I don't complain.

I totally know what you mean. I let my older brother park my Regal a long time ago while I was helping my mom take some clothes into a laundry mat. I swear he was only in the car for about 5 minutes. Then one day, a few days later I'm putting gas in my car and some dude comes up and asks me what the hell I was doing driving Daves car. I was like hey man look at this insurance card and this title.. Not sure who fed you a line of bullcrap but this is my car. Wow 5 minutes and he told someone it was his car. Weird.

My GTX (my 2nd) very simular build as my first. Same lightly upgraded 440 performance. Same 4-speed Dana rear. Same very decent stock suspension setup. But one difference is that this 2nd has power steering. That I'm not sure I like. Yes it whips around just fine. But there feels a loss of some control compared to manual. It certainly more of what one is used too. But I would trade power steering for power brakes. If given the optional choice?

The Orange GTX above I converted to power steering with the Borgensen setup. The Yellow 69 I did a Sniper setup on it and I will probably be doing the same setup to the 70 soon. So far I have installed 5 Sniper master kits. One Holley Terminator X on a Crustang. Apparently I have become the Go to guy for this crap around here. Maybe I don't charge enough. lol. I am about to do this same setup on a 67 Impala with a 502 in it. Holley should send me some swag damn it.
