Can the Vendors shop early?
I pay for an early admission at an annual Swap Meet every year. Not what I would prefer, but the alternative is to not go at all. Set-up is at 6 am, gates open at 10. The first year I went, I got there early and was the fourth person through the gate at 10 am. Before I got in, I could see vendors shopping and buying parts. I found nothing to buy.
The next year at 6 am, I put my pickup in the car corral for $10 admission and went shopping. Bought a pickup load of 1956 Chevy parts for $300 (sold), a 1965 Hemi carb for $125, a dual snorkel mopar air cleaner for $20 (sold), plus some other parts. I paid asking for the 56 parts on the condition he move them from his trailer to my pickup. None of those items would have been there at 10 pm. I left before they opened the gates, but there was a line down the block. The sharks had fed, the guppies were waiting for scraps. It's the same every year, but how would they stop the early buying?
The promoter knows what I do and I'm not the only one. Last year, she said I didn't have to pay to get in ear;y, but I'll buy my ticket, same as the vendors I compete with.
