LA small block/big block share same alternator ?

Wondering if b body LA small blocks and big blocks share same alternator ?

those alternators were used on everything. single pulley, double pulley , single field , 2 field , in a variety of amperages. there was also a GM style used , I forget the name, Delco maybe not sure

Some big blocks had the bigger starter, but if you need one get the mini starter and they work fine. I have one on a gen 2 Hemi.

I think the brand name you are searching for is: LEECE-NEVILLE. They sort-of resemble a Delco 12SI series, a high output design. The Leece-Neville units were used in high amperage needs....police vehicles and luxury car requirements.

I believe the origional Chrysler design, a reduction gear type starter. The earlier Hemi and some of the later versions (not current venue hemi's) used a direct drive starter.
A lot of the mini starter designs use rare earth permanent magnet fields, rather than wound field coil's, which allows a smaller package with more available locked rotor torque with less amperage draw.

yes that's the one, IIRC , they were 100 amp high output

We used to build the big chrysler starters with four fields instead of a shunt
all obsolete with the new starter
same with the big leece neville alternator
obsolete big and heavy
maybe it has the duty cycle to make up for it but finding parts...and mounting brackets
even when under warranty they were a PITA
