Swapping a 440 into a 68 318 Satellite. The customer purchased this car and has been working on upgrading it. He obtained a running 440 and 727. He brought it to me for the swap. He also wanted front disc brakes and a sway bar. Upon disasembly a few things were aparent. It needed suspension parts, idler arm, all bushings, and boots. The 318 throttle and kickdown linkage needed to be reworked. The pics tell the story.

Then if course the electronic ignition had been professionally wired by someone in the past. Note the bypassesd ballast and the custom yellow wire power feed for the orange box . It did have 3 #4 ground cables from an Auto zone battery terminal. And a fine positive cable. No power to the main alternator feed either. You can see why. All repaired now.

Found some even more exciting wiring. Suspension rebuilt and disc brakes added. Installed a Hotchkiss sway bar as well. Car has been returned to it's owner. On to the next project.

Hey Doug,
Good work but just curious about
the bushing clearance around the
sway bar.
Are those not supposed to fit tight
against the bar?
I'm not familiar at all on the Mopar
stuff, but every sway bar I've seen
doesn't have room for the bar to
move before contact with the bushing.
Please correct my thinking if I'm in
error.

You are correct. The stabilizer insulator bushing bolts weren't tightened yet in the pic. The insulators and the outer bushings fit properly now.
