No , I do'nt think so. As long as the bushing fits tight on the shaft. You could also fill the pits if wanted for astetics. Mine looked alot like yours , and thier just fine.
Just got my kit in from performance suspension components. looks pretty good the LCA pivot shaft bushing is graphite with grease and requires the use of the original inner and outter metal sleeves. Anything i need to be aware of before reassembly
Before you use the poly LCA bushings go to Firm Feel web site and read the blurb about those bushings. They talk about 'wonder toe' that is not being able to lock in the toe setting. They recommend adjustable front strut rods. I have poly LCA bushings on my 67 and have problems with keeping front ailgnment, eating up the inside edge of the tread.I used rubber lowers on the 68 and poly uppers. http://www.firmfeel.com/adjstrut.htm
I just assembled the LCAs with the poly bushings. There is an 1/8 " play in the shaft/Torsion bar adjuster assembly. Is this common ???
So I should stay with rubber LCA bushings rather than the Poly????
The ones i took out are actually in good shape.
The LCA is still on the bench so this is an easy fix.
Here's my 2 cents worth: Go back to the Rubber Bushings. Poly is over rated and they tend to squeak which will drive you CRAZY. 1/8" play will be a problem for you down the road.
Is the play in the bushing or in the LCA between the arm and the torsion bar reciever? If it is in the arm, once bolted in place, between the LCA pivot and the front strut rod, the play won't be there. If you use the poly/nylon LCA bushings just be aware of the issue with toe in adjustment, check the link I listed above.
I went back to the rubber bushing. The ones i removed were in excelent shape. Previous owner must have redone not too long ago. The play is in the whole assembly which includes the torsion bar receiver/torsion bar adj. lever/ piviot shaft. No play between piviot shaft and bushing.
