Hey guys and gals! Looking for some direction on new leaf springs for my 65 Coronet to level it up. But from what I’ve read from quite a few vendors, Eaton, Mopar Performance, Jegs, EBay, that they want a longer shackle in the front and a relocated mounting hole drilled for the rear. Some sites go as far as calling their springs, “oversized”. Has anybody swapped out old for new springs on this model without modifications?

I have more doors than most.I ordered them 1” over stock height and an extra half leaf on the right side. I also got new shackles and hardware. A friend has them on his 67,we’re both happy with them, don’t ride like a truck either. Just answer all their questions.

'62-'65 B-bodies have rear leaf springs with a front segment length of 21" from centering pin to front spring eye. '66-'70 B-body springs are 22" . Super Stock (basically A-body) springs are 20" for the same measurement. To put S/S springs on a '62-'65 B-body, you have to use the '66-'67 Plymouth S/S front hanger kit. The spring eye bolt hole is 1" closer to the hanger mounting surface than the Dodge piece. This is how Chrysler achieved 1" longer wheelbase in Dodge, versus Plymouth. It was all in that front spring hanger. You must be careful with springs and hangers with '62-'65 B-bodies to avoid getting the rear axle too far back. Putting '66-'67 rear springs on an earlier B-body will also result in placing the rear axle 1" to far back.

Boy, I'm learning a lot today! Thanks Dave!

The '62-63 rear springs are different from the '64-65, and are actually the same as A body dimensions. It was the transition years for the B bodies...

I have gotten 3 sets of springs for a 64 belvedere and Fury from Husky Springs in St Cloud Mn. I did all the installing myself and went on without any modifications .. I will be ordering another set shortly from them.
