Ok I wanted follow up that others can benefit from what I did to solve the problem of inoperative instruments. Both my fuel and temp instruments were not working. A few LED’s were also not working. I found that the threaded posts on the instruments (see pic) were isolated from the PCB trace so it was not making electrical contact. You can see a very small contact area that has white corrosion on it. I verified this with an ohm meter. So I burnished the contact area of the copper trace like I did for the LED’s and then snugged on the nut. I was then able to see the voltage on the meters threaded screw. That simple but the instrument cluster needed to be out. For the LED’s that didn’t work I bent the contacts and reinstalled them and verified that they werked before I reinstalled the dash. Everything works now.
