I did my LEDS in red...also Ron 73 gave me some good advice about new overlays so I did them in mint green...Marla

I put a set of led bulb into the my rallye gauge cluster yesterday and WOW! Best $15 I ever put into that car. The LEDs give the gauges a nice white/blue tint and they're at least twice as bright as they were before. For a quick mod, it's well worth it.

Even I am huge fan of these led lights. They save considerable power and not expensive at all

Ok I finally put led's in the dash, looks exactly like moparstuarts pic above ( no pics because my wife took the camera to Italy for Nonas birthday),
it's considerably brighter and easy to see now but not crazy about the blueish color (like the factory greenish better) also removed the dimmer switch and cleaned it, I was surprised how black the contacts where that switch was new when I installed it 20 years ago, that's probably where most if not all of the problem was.
It will stay with led's for now.

Just received my led's from the same source as Bruzilla. I'm waiting on a new dimmer switch from Year One and then I'll tear into it. Can't wait, they look awesome.

Wookie, Did you take the bluish filters off when you redid this? They look so bright and clear, i wondered just how bright the OE bulbs would be without those filters..

My buddy put them in. I don't believe he removed anything? Could quiz him though.

Its no big deal for me, Im not going to tear that apart regardless, I was just curious, You can see those round blueish green bubble looking things, I called them filters because it darkens the light shining thru.. I took mine off but with the LED light bulbs, It probably wouldn't have hurt anything as bright as they are.. Thanks!

Realize this is an old thread but I did some digging and thanks to some help from Bruce and wookie316, talked to the guy that did wookie's cluster and he said he left the blue filters in place and used a single 1-watt led replacement for each bulb.

Seems like everyone has the same concern that without the filters the LED'S could hurt your vision trying to drive at night, and by the looks of how great wookie's cluster came out, the LED's with filters still in place are plenty bright.

I'll post some pictures in this thread when my cluster is done, and for anyone thinking about doing the coversion I hope this post helps :icon_thumleft:

Nothing beats an old Mopar and seeing the perfect green for the instrument cluster ... no other color can cur it..

Just when I thought I was making some headway on my list of things to do to my car. Damn you Bruzilla.

Alright guys, on my To-Do List for this weekend I'm cleaning up the wiring in my dash and ordering my LED's, still probably gonna be a couple weeks til the car is ready for the dash but I'll take some pics next week when I test em out and post em in this thread

these guys do really top quality LED bulbs for every socket in your mopar.

every light except my headlights are leds in my 68 charger

Hey Benno440, when you bought your lights from superbrightleds.com, are they just plug and play? Meaning, just replace the bulb, no load equalizer needed?

Sorry to hijack the thread - but what steps do you need to take in order to change the bulbs? Ie, do I need to open the cluster up or are the lights serviceable anyway?
