I will be replacing the headliner in my '72 Runner soon.. any comments on quality regarding Legendary vs Classic Ind? Since I will be removing the old liner (slightly torn in the corners), I thought it'd be the perfect time to add some sound insulation to the roof. Any product recommendations and/or tips on doing so? No such thing as TMI. Thanks, and have a Great Day!

Go Legendary. I purchased a REM first and fought with that thing for 3 days and never could get it to fit right. Ordered a Legendary and in 3 hours I was done and it fits and looks fantastic. I am not what Classic sells but will would not take that chance again.

Use painter's tape to mark the locations of all the screw holes. You'll need a bunch of clamps to hold the headliner in place where it glues to the door frame . The kind shown in this picture were too weak, and I didn't have enough of them. I've got a box of the right kind which I'll try to find later.

Have good ventilation. Headliner glue is strong stuff.

I was able to get a good result and did not need to shrink with a heat gun. It took months for the folds to relax and smooth out.

Classic does not make parts. They resell. Sometimes it is not clear who the actual manufacturer is for parts they sell.
