That's the 2nd time I've been told that this month. the 1st was on my way home from Canada in my Slingshot. My knee tweaked the day before I left, and after dropping my wife at the Calgary airport for her flight home, my buddy and I drove 2 1/2 hours without a break. When we finally came to a stop sign, he was in front and continued on. I stopped to stretch my leg. I changed into a short-sleeve shirt and forgot to bungee my travel bag back to my luggage rack. I took off and stopped at the next fuel stop about 5 clicks down the road. I saw my bag was missing and hollered out to my buddy at another pump that we had to go back because I lost my MeanSling bag. A guy at a pump between us asked me if it was a black duffel. I told him yes and he told me he saw a guy with a black Dodge dually and a 5th wheel running to pick it up. Bryan thought maybe he just moved it off the road, so we split up and I went back to look while he went further into town to look for a black Dodge at a fuel stop. We both struck out. Nothing to do but push on and check each town for that rig. 1st town, nothing. 2nd town I saw a black truck and 5th wheel and turned off to investigate. It was a Ford and not a dually but asked them anyway. No dice. 3rd town nothing. Close to an hour later I passed an ice cream stand that had a black GMC dually with a 5th wheel parked out front. I pulled in and there was probably 10 groups of people there. I asked the couple nearest me if that was their truck. No. I approached the next table with a couple and two young daughters. When I asked him, he said yes, that's his truck. I said, 'you didn't happen to find a black duffel on the road aways back did you?', and he got a funny half-grin, half-surprised look on his face and said, 'maybe?'. So I explained where I lost it and that a guy at the station told me that he saw a guy with a black truck picking it up. He said to me 'do you want a really big surprise today?' to which I replied yes. He said, 'let's go for a walk' and took me over to his truck, grabbed my bag out of the bed and handed it to me. When I told him I was from Washington he told me I better go buy a lottery ticket. What are the chances? You better go buy a lottery ticket.
