Hello there,
I'm in the process of restoring the body of my 1971 Satellite here in France (well, somebody does that for me )
I want to repaint it in Y1 Lemon twist
The problem is that this code no longer exists and I cannot find a cross reference with an existing paint code ...
Would anyone know which existing colour would better match with Y1 ? Or the hex or RGB code of the original ?
Thanks for your help

Lemon Twist was a 1970 colour... try PPG 2211

Thanks for your replies
I already know about these paint charts but all the cross references I found (for example on the paintref web page) are also old references than I cannot find recent comparisons with

You can't get PPG paint in France?

Dupont : Mix size 128 oz. Tints: 430-03 H.S White 746.2 430-19 Lemon Yellow 1293.6 430-20 Indo Yellow 1365.4 430-02 Carbon Black 1385.1 435-93 Urethane binder 3991.3

I just did fy1 in base clear, we used a color camera, and spies-hecker came the closest with dupont $600 a gallon clear on top. The base was $800 or 900. I am a big fan of ppg, but 2 years ago they were not close with base clear. All toners are not available in all lines of everyone's paint. Ppg has a formula for their shopline line of paint in base clear, but not for the higher line. Spies is duponts lower line of base clear but it was the same $8-900 that the so called better stuff is.

Try RM 2304 / Martin Senour 1889 / PPG 2211 / Dupont 5180L,5180A,5180D / Acme Rogers 11053

I already have these cross references from painted.com, thanks
I sent them to my painter but they don't seem to be available from his suppliers

Could you precise the units as I'm not familiar with these formulas

The paint is measured in grams so your painter should be good with those figures. Here is the ppg shopline base clear formula, that is all my local paint store could mix it in. The shopline trends to the orange side, the dupont was on the green side, spies-hecker was the best shot on a white base. The factory color on my car trended slight green.

The white base will save you a lot of basecoat I will tell you that.

Well, I can't say more than thank you so much, it couldn't be more accurate
That is exactly what I was looking for, thanks again :thankyou:

Just hope my painter will have access to these

Let me know if he wants dupont/axalta/ spies-hecker. I can get the spies for sure, and maybe they saved the axalta when we worked my color. As I said the axalta was a little green BUT, was in the ballpark of a 1980 ppg FY1delstar factory pack. The axalta did not respond well to adjustments for us, spies did.

Unfortunately the painter cannot order PPG paint so I will have to do with something else ... :(
