Hi All-

I've been looking at a number of 1970 RRs and it appears that the length is shorter than the 68-69. Was there a difference in length of the 1970 RR compared to a 68-69 RR? Is there any difference in length between the 1970 RR and a 2-door Satellite?

My research shows they are all the same, and maybe it's just the way the images are taken, but does anyone know for sure?

66-70 the wheelbase is the same for B bodies. Overhang front and rear rear may be slightly different, but I'm not sure.

The tail light housings on the earlier cars might make a difference....but if so, it's not much.

Thats it right there.....The taillights housings/quarter extension is what made the slight length difference...

Mystery solved, thanks all. It made sense with the tail light extensions. They typically looked longer on the side profile.

Not sure that's it as I never took measurements. Had a 69 road runner here until recently so can't do measurements now....

Length only counts if you are at a cruise in. At the ones I go to you can buy 50/50 tickets, $20 for the length of your car. Everyone wants to measure off my Superbird. They get more than an extra foot or so that way.

LOL Jerry, mine would have got you an extra ticket up until two weeks ago. I finally fixed the nose seal that was installed backwards!

Same seal, just depends on if it's a Daytona or Superbird. LOL

New to the B-bodies... whats the difference between a 69 and a 70 front fender? Can they be interchanged?
thanks
That I don't know....but you might start a new thread with 'Will a fender from a 69 road runner fit a 70 RR' as the heading since your subject matter is a bit different than what's here. Also, you might go to the Welcome Wagon forum and introduce yourself and post a pic of your car.

I would have thought that a 70 was slightly longer than 68-69's. The 70's sure do look longer to me.

The only way to put a 69 fender onto a 70 road runner is to also use the 69 hood and bumper. I bought a car built like that once.
