Lets see them 71 Roadrunners....

I currently own a 74 Dart Sport that I am restoring, but I would love a 71 through 74 Roadrunner. The styling on these cars is so unique, especially the front bumper around the headlights...

I so agree...Originally back in 71 i couldn't stand them. Must have been the drastic change from the standard 67-70 body style with the large trunk / backend. But now i cant get enough of them. They are definitely unique with the long front end and stubby rear end body style.

Here's my 440-6, four speed, 71 Road Runner! All numbers still match! Two body tags. Has rimblow wheel, tach, am/fm radio, rear defogger, original front and rear spoilers, original rear window louvers, bumper tape treatment and more. Fairly well optioned car. WOW.jpg

Well, this is my first post here.

I bought this gorgeous '71 Clone Runner in Amboy, WA (north of Portland, OR) and shipped it home to Melbourne, Australia. It was originally a Satellite (VIN RP23...).

It's a '71, 440-4bbl with a mild cam and nice dual exhaust. The wheels have been widened by the previous owner.
When I got it, it originally had 265/50-14 tires, but they were old and hardened and needed replacing,
however the closest I could get was 245/60-14. Sorry, but these photos aren't the best. It's only just arrived here
and I got it registered. It needs some detailing and polishing, but presents as is as a 9/10 car. It's a real peach.
I have always loved these unique cars and it sure turns a LOT of heads here in Australia.
I've only ever seen one here in my lifetime, so I can't wait to take it to some local car shows and impress.

When it arrived, our Customs & Quarantine inspectors removed the wheel trims, maybe they were looking for
drugs or cash or mice... so it looks scruffy in this shot, but the stance is pretty badass to me. :icon_biggrin:

Its great to see a fellow melbournian on here and I am thinking the same thing as I have only seen one other one also. What area do you live in? Wouldn't mind coming around and having a look as mine is in the building stages and would love to get a nice look at one which you can't do at shows. Very nice car.

Thanks, guys.

71roadrunnersassy - that would be cool.I'm in Ringwood, shoot me a PM.
